About this site

This site starts from one observation: in forums the same question (which pump do I need?) has come back for almost twenty years, and the answers nearly always rest on the two numbers printed on the box, maximum flow and maximum head, which on their own do not tell how much water will actually reach your sprinkler. The site signs with its own name; who runs and provides it, with the details the law requires, is stated in the legal notice.

How we test and choose

We have not yet measured the pumps ourselves, and we say so on every page. We use only data published by manufacturers, with a link to the document and the date we read it; when a manufacturer publishes the full curve we use it, when it states only the maximum values we flag the result as an indicative estimate, based only on maximum flow and head and not a confirmation. Pipe losses and the operating point are calculated with published methods (Darcy-Weisbach, Colebrook-White) and checked with automated tests. Pumps are ranked by the flow estimated for your system, never by commission. If the site proves useful, the next step is a test bench with a pressure gauge and weighing to measure real curves.
